Our goal is to make certain that every basset hound in the state of Florida
Is safe in a wonderful loving home and that no basset is left behind in the kill shelters of our state.
My name is Pam Farris and I am the founder and head of Basset Rescue of Florida, Inc., a not for profit (501(c)3)breed rescue organization that rescues basset hounds from all of the kill shelters across the state. We started in July of 2007 and that first year saved 45 dogs. 2008 was our first full year in operation and we saved 107 bassets from all corners of the state. We pull them no matter their age or health status as we believe they all deserve to live wonderful lives with loving families. We encourage each of you to adopt from and support your local basset rescue.
As a dog trainer and dog behaviorist, Edel Miedes of K9 ADVISORS, a professional dog training school that does in-home obedience dog training and K9 protection dog training in South Florida, supports pet rescues such as this one. |
